At the end of the summer I started a mini makeover on my kitchen by painting the cupboards. I loved the way they turned out and how the look of the room changed with just a couple coats of paint. So..... I decided why not paint the backsplash too! I had chosen the tile a few years back based on the fact that it was on clearance, big mistake! In the not too distant future I would like to switch it out for a classic subway tile but for now painting it white seemed like a pretty good idea. I cleaned the tile and then primed them followed by two coats of paint. I used the same products as my cabinets. STIX primer and ADVANCE paint in a bright white called Frostine {AF-5} by Benjamin Moore. B E F O R E A F T E R I love the clean, fresh look. It brightens everything up and gives the backsplash a more contemporary look. A small and simple change achieved with paint once again. You may have noticed the jars in the corner. I gave them a quick makeover too. The jars have sat on my counter for years quite happily but eventually everything gets painted by me! I sprayed the lids with a pop of yellow and added some great chalkboard labels from Martha Stewart. Another project done and dusted
